Blind Atlas is a blend of post-space-rock with a generous helping of 60s opuses, a sprinkling of 90s indie all wrapped in a warm 70s Fuzz.
The Anglo-American roots were grown in Manchester as Colorado born Ross linked up with Pete and bonded over grey skies, cheap ale and playing raw-and-ready rock n roll. After the critical acclaim of their debut album Kodiak Bear, they headed to the bright lights of London. The new quartet has been completed by Andrew and Takaco both experienced on eclectic indie scenes of Osaka and Tokyo. This new fusion has launched Blind Atlas from their country rock roots and into rocket fuelled space rock territory.
"Kodiak Bear brooding and reflective. Hints of Exile on Maine Street, Calexico and Frontier Ruckus." [Classic Rock Magazine: 7/10]
"Their songs range from whiskey-soaked Blues to a melancholic mix of Folk, Americana and Rock to Cinematic Soundscapes with guitars that gently weep one minute and howl the next." [Mudkiss Magazine]
Recent releases include Balter E.P. (2016) and the single Space Americans (2017), they are heading into the studio April to finish their upcoming 2018 album.
The band have opened for The Bees, Blitzen Trapper, Megafaun, The Acorn, Buffalo Tom, The Bowerbirds and The Features. They a have performed a live session on Bob Harris' BBC Radio 2 show “was so awesome to meet whispering Bob!” Plays have also racked up on BBC6 music and globally across international airwaves from USA to the Arctic.
